# Propionaadid (E 280–283) Propionaadid on säilitusained, mis pärit nii loodusest kui ka tehiskemiast. Neid kasutatakse leiva, küpsiste ja muude küpsetatud toodete säilitamiseks, et takistada hallituse ja bakterite kasvu. Propionaadid pikendavad toiduainete säilivusaega ja aitavad hoida neid värskena, ilma et see mõjutaks teadavalt inimese tervist tavapärases koguses tarbides.
