# Maitohappe (E 270) kirjeldus Maitohappe on orgaaniline hape, mis tekib loomulikult piimhappebakterite fermentatsiooni käigus ja esineb näiteks hapukoorese, jogurdi ja fermenteeritud toiduainete koostises. Toidutööstuses kasutatakse seda konserveerimisvahendina, maitsustajana ja hapetajana, kuna see aitab pikendada toiduainete säilivust ja parandada nende maitse. Maitohappe päritolu võib olla nii loomulik (fermenteerimisest saadud) kui ka sünteetiline (keemiliselt toodetud).
