# E 150a-d (Caramels) Karamell on pruun värvaine, mis valmistus kuumutades suhkrut või teisi süsivesikuid kontrollitud tingimustes. Toiduainetesse lisatakse seda värvi andmiseks, näiteks kolajooke, pirtsid ja kastmeid saavad sellest oma iseloomulikku pruunikat värvi.
